About

Kevin Sauer, founder

I build agentic AI systems and lead the teams that take them to market. Serviam Rex brings that combination to organizations that want AI working in production.

Builder, field leader, author.

I helped establish Microsoft’s earliest field go-to-market for Azure OpenAI and GitHub Copilot, running more than 100 enterprise engagements that shaped customer adoption and product direction before generative AI reached the public market. I’ve led technical organizations of 9 to 45 people across the United States, Canada, France and the Netherlands, with sustained leadership-effectiveness scores above 90% and three Outstanding Manager awards.

Today I lead solutions architecture for insurance and financial services customers on the West Coast, advising executives on where agentic AI changes underwriting, claims and retirement operations, and moving intelligent document processing from proof of concept into production on Amazon Bedrock.

I also still build. I founded Two Out Barrels, an agentic AI platform for baseball intelligence, and I develop production software alongside AI coding agents every week. That keeps my advice grounded in what works.

I wrote The Ice Mold Leadership Model to share what I learned building high-performing teams. The second edition, in progress, is about leading organizations where AI agents are working members of the team.
